Angle Park Preview - 7th October 2022
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
We are racing on a prime time Friday night and it’s the FINAL of the 2022 TAB Adelaide Cup with a massive $100,000 to the winner which is race (8) on the program, it looks to be a top-class event and with Wow She’s Fast in the event who carved out a Track Record run here last run in the Match Race Series. Drawing box five might not be as easy as first thought. Mallee Magic has the gun draw and he is very classy when out in front and was very impressive here last week. Zippy Tesla along with Fernando Mick are chances, that is my first four in the Cup. We also have the TAB Premiers Cup over the 730m and you would have to be a brave person to tip against Fantastic Radley, he has won his last three all in good times and that event has $10,000 to the winner. All races are Trifecta and First Four events and I am sure we can have a good night on the punt.
Race 1 - Go Forward Bruno is my top selection to kick start Cup night, he has been racing well over the 595m here and is back to the 530m tonight and only needs early luck to salute. Springvale Bray gets back early in the run but will be doing his best work late. Bobby Axelrod along with Aston Arena is the First Four chances. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 2 - This is a Maiden event and Enticement is having her 1st start here in SA, she has been placed in two of 6 in Melbourne and is drawn to be a big chance here 1st up. Maestro Luke along with Victa Speed looks at the Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - Fantastic Faith has been racing well with two good wins at Murray Bridge in recent runs, she has an early pace and should lead here with moderate beginners on her inside. On The Tequila is our value runner, she will be running on strongly from the good draw. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 4 - This is the Premier's Cup over the 730m and with $10,000 to the winner it's very hard to go past Fantastic Radley who is a class act, he can lead and win again in the small field. Beck’s Monelli has been very handy back in Victoria and should run a cheeky race as will Bedrock Fred. Box Up 5 from 3,7 and 1
Race 5 - Spring Phoebe goes well from this draw and won two runs back at Gawler in good time from this draw, she can kick up and looks like one of the better chances. Jax Bale has been racing in NSW of late and was placed in three of his four runs he is the danger if he can clear them early. Propelled and Aces Are Trumps are chances in a wide-open affair. Box up 1.2.3.5
Race 6 - Rushes Raw can bounce back after last week's run, he dwelt on lid rise and was never in the mix he can lead here and is my selection. Hill Top Jack is a reserve in the Cup Final, he has an early pace and has been placed here in both of his runs in SA. French Wish has a good turn of early pace and could surprise with early luck. Box Up 1.2.4.6
Race 7 - We are over the 595m here and the Rob Harnas trained Hoogley is a chance of bouncing straight to the front, he has won here over this trip in the past and will be very hard to beat with a clear run early. Spring Agathandth and War Drum Express have a handy form and must be respected. Box Up 1.2.35
Race 8 - This is the 2022 Adelaide Cup Final and has a massive $100,000 to the winner, it is very hard to tip against WOW SHE’S FAST who carved a slick 29.86 breaking the track record her last run, she has won over 1 MILLION dollars ( and yes that’s not a typo) and can only add to that here tonight. Mallee Magic returned to form here last week with a smart 30.12 run, the kennel has timed the run to the Final perfectly and is drawn for a bold showing. Zippy Tesla rattled home here last week when winning and is in the powerful Dailly kennel and is the BIG improver. Box Up 1.3.4.5
Race 9 - Springvale Jess was the last start winner here when leading throughout, she is well drawn here tonight and is very strong. Victa Tony has pace but does struggle to run a solid 530m he is one for the Trifecta punters. Emerley Spicy and Bedrock Will for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.5
Race 10 - There is plenty of value here and Show Me Bucks has the pace to ping straight to the front and win, he will find this a bit easier than recent runs and is amongst the better chances. Abernathy will be running on strongly he along with March Legend are a good chance. Box Up 2.3.4.6
Race 11 - Miss Scallywag was a last-start winner here in 30.80, she has a good draw and will take a beating again. Victa Kurt has a good turn of early pace he has won three of his last five and is amongst the dangers. Harbor Blues and Scorching Sun for the First Four. Box Up 1.4.5.7
Race 12 - On a massive night of racing we can go home on a winner with Katanti down in box 2, she has a decent draw here and only needs to be close enough early to storm over the top and salute. Woodside Brockie looks like the leader and is right in the mix again. Box Up 1.2.4.5
