TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

It’s been a very busy week so we will make tonight’s preview short and sharp, we have a 12-event program and I do have a couple of good things throughout the evening. As always, all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - We only have the 3 runners over the 730m, Victa Haydn looks the leader again and will take beating. Beck’s Monelli will be suited by the small field and is the danger with Gold Blaze for 3rd. 5.3.7 for a $1

Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and we will go with Shot Of Jacks, he has only had the one run when 4th in Victoria, he will be hard to beat in this. Fabrizio can improve from the draw and has early pace. Add Under Siege and Terrific Arnold for the First Four. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 3 - Run Like Jess saluted the judge for us last week and can do the same again tonight, he is a strong type and is our top pick. Maximum Refusal and Straight Blaze for the Tri. Box Up all the evens 2.4.6.8

Race 4 - Jax Bale is our selection here, the former Victorian has 21 wins and 35 Placings from his 89 starts, he is in the Tim Aloisi team and will take beating. Dakota Roxy along with Sutton Daisy for the minors. 2 from 1.5.8

Race 5 - The Rasmussen kennel could have a handy night, Jalapeno Lad looks to be a handy type and has been placed at his past two at Sandown. Zipping Aura along with Bold Onyx are the dangers who have been racing well. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 6 - Make sure you have a First Four in this it is a wide-open affair and there is a bit of value here. Rushes Raw was a last start winner and will be the one they have to beat. Mr.Ibrox is a strong performer and is well boxed. Contour along with Makani Girl can figure. Box Up 1.2.3.6

Race 7 - Throw a dart here as this is wide open, I have gone with Terrific Tyla but she can be hit and miss on lid rise. Kruger Lass has been racing well at Horsham she has early pace and is right in the mix. Venetian Jet and Spring Pony are around the mark. Box Up 1.2.5.7

Race 8 - Sister Roberta is my top pick here and my best bet of the night, she looks a chance of leading and will take beating. Hushing Dusk has joined the Lauren Harris kennel, she has 7 wins and 11 placing from 36 runs and should be respected. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 9 - Troy Murray has a big chance here with Sky And Thunder, he will be at each way odds and gets a chance from the wide draw. Express Black is well drawn along with Midnight Blast who is very strong. Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 10 - Mick Giniotis has Springvale Roxy in terrific form and she will take a power of beating again in this, she has the box speed to led and win. Sunset Toxic is the danger with John Dutton. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 11 - There are only two chances here, Don’t Tell Bluey has continued to keep on winning here, he is outstanding form with 10 wins and 2 placings from his 13 starts here over this trip.
Victa Grosso is a smart performer who is very strong and can run fast times. 4.8.6.1

Race 12 - Canya Razor hopefully can lead and win hear and send us home on a winning note, he can run time if on the lure early. Scorching Sun is very strong and is the danger. Finniss Flash for the minors. Box up 1.2.4.5

GRADING REVIEW OUTCOMES

TIME BANDS FOR MASTERS AT ANGLE PARK
Since Angle Park has been redeveloped with the new distances of 342m, 530, 595m and 730m GRSA has not allocated any times for Masters events. There subsequently has been sufficient racing at the venue for a time standard to be applied, which was approved at the most recent Grading Review Panel meeting.
The below time ratings for Masters events will now be implemented for meetings conducted from 1st July, 2022.
Time Bands are –
342m –19.75
530m –30.80
595m – Unlikely
730m – Unlikely

305M MASTERS AT MOUNT GAMBIER
Time band for Mount Gambier 305m Masters-
Previously GRSA had been using a policy for Masters events at Mount Gambier utilising the 277m distance, however, we had not adjusted this for the 305m until there was sufficient racing. At the most recent Grading Review Panel meeting it was decided to make the below changes and implement.  The below policy will now be implemented for meetings conducted from 1st July 2022 -

305m Masters Policy for Mount Gambier – With Mount Gambier GRC conducting one 305m Grade 5 Masters race each meeting where possible, the Grading Department determined conditions for these races using some of the conditions of normal Grade 5 Masters events, however, factoring in the restricted nature of the 305m distance. If a dog wins and runs faster than 17.75, it can still remain eligible for the next week, if the dog then wins and runs faster than 17.75 again it will be ineligible for the race and distance the following week. The dog will either run over another distance or will miss that week’s race. The following week it will then be eligible. If there is no 305m Masters race the greyhound has to miss the next time that race is conducted. This only refers to the greyhounds that win.
