TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

Tonight here at headquarters we have the final of the 2022 Leigh Rogers over the 530m (race 6 ) on the program with $10,000 to the winner on offer, it has turned into a very handy final and should make for a good First Four event. As always, all races are Trifecta and First Four and let’s hope you still have money after Tuesday's day of racing.

Race 1
- We will go with the last start winner Aston Arena in this, she is well drawn down in box 1 and in recent starts has been showing a good turn of early pace. Mepunga Web along with Charlie Brother both are chances with clear running. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 2 - This is the Maiden, and we have four 1st starters so we must keep them safe, I like Basso’s Girl who has been in the money at her last four and is very close to breaking through. Box Up 2.4.5.8

Race 3 - Molly Irish can bounce back here, she missed the start here last week when 2nd and should return to the winner’s circle tonight and lead throughout. Victa Tony has been racing well winning two of his last three. Add Yarramundi Paul for the TRI. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 4 - This certainly is a wide-open affair and I am hoping Gemtree Apollo can lead here at each way odds, he could pinch this if he does. Spring Pony along with Orson Katie are chances from the good draws. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 5 - Jax Bale has a good draw here tonight and should prove hard to beat, he can show early pace and is the one to catch. Victa Kurt along with Express Speed also has an early pace and is dangerous. Box up 1.2.6.7

Race 6 - This is the final with $10,000 to the winner and Victa Damian is a very handy youngster, he has a picket fence next to his name with 3 smart wins and will be the one to catch again here tonight. Spring Honour is well-drawn and has been placed here in 5 of his 6 runs. Add Basil Brush Rose who will be running on strongly. Box Up 1.3.6.8

Race 7 - Kruger Lass is my top pick here but she can give you heart failure at times on lid rise, she is very strong and will need an ounce of luck early. Charlee’s Misty can show an early pace and has been racing well. On The Tequila is another who will be making late ground and should be in the money. Box up 3.5.7.8

Race 8 - Terrific event here and Mallee Magic will be very hard to beat if he finds the front, he can carve out quick times and is the one to catch. Victa Reid won the Gawler Cup from this draw and is very strong. Came And Went and Propelled can run into the First Four. Box Up 1.3.5.8

Race 9 - The Harnas kennel has been having a handy run and they have a chance here with Shakira Blaze out in box 7, she is stepping up from the 342m and might pinch this. Miss Free Reign could be the improver from the inside draw. Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 10 - Elegant Beamer has won both his starts over the 342m in handy times he steps up to the 530m here and should go very close. Hey Day is doing the same and she is amongst the better chances along with Under Siege who will be running on. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 11 - This is over the Journey and Vega Black has been racing well winning his last three here, he looks like the leader again and is the one to beat. Mr Ibrox has won 5 from 12 here and is very strong along with Chatting who has been picking up a cheque here most weeks. 7 5.1.3 for $1

Race 12 - The Ben Rawlings team has been going well and they have a chance here with Gondola who can handle the wide draw. The dangers are Very Jiggling down on the fence along with Dozing. Box Up 1.2.5.8
