Racing News

TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
It’s the end of another month and we certainly have had some good racing throughout March, and tonight is no different with a strong 12-event program. Race 7 is the one I have had a good look at tonight to be run at 8.40 pm. The Tim Aloisi kennel has added to his team with a couple of EX WA performers and they have Lupini Monelli engaged here, her current form has been at Cannington over the 520m and won from this draw two runs back in 29.79, she is the one to beat on paper. Victa Speed continues to be highly competitive with wins here and a placing at the Meadows, he has good box speed and is among the dangers. Fat Boy’s Lucky is now in the care of John Sargent and was a last start winner at the Gardens, and he could surprise and is one for the Trifecta.

PANORAMA AND SPRINGVALE MADDI TRIALLING IN FINAL CHANCE FOR EASTAR MATCH RACE

Tonight is the final night for greyhounds to trial, set a time and improve their position in the standings for the Eastar Match Race series to be run next Thursday night 6th April with both Panorama for Ben Rawlings and Springvale Maddi for Gavin Harris booked into the trial.

A winner of 21 of her 57 starts with 16 placings, Panorama for trainer Ben Rawlings will be solo trialling tonight in between races at Angle Park. The recent Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup winner has high speed from the boxes so she should blister early and hopefully record a time inside the top 8.

Also trialling tonight will be Springvale Maddi for trainer Gavin Harris in between races. She is a winner of 22 of her 57 starts with 17 placings and returned to the race track at Mt Gambier after 4 months of with a blistering second in the Group 3 Mt Gambier Cup heats last Sunday. She also is electric early so we could be in for some slick times.

VICTA ALBY & LIVE IT AT SANDOWN TONIGHT AND VICTA DAMIAN AT WENTWORTH PARK SATURDAY NIGHT
SA Launching Pad final winner Live It for trainer Tony Rasmussen ran fourth in his heat of the rich Launching Pad series at Sandown last week and qualified for tonight’s semi-finals. He is in race 8 due to go at 8.29 pm SA time and has come up with box 3, he will need plenty of luck early as it’s a pretty hot semi-final. If he can run the top two he will qualify for the $150,000 to the winner on Thursday, 6th April.

Also joining him in the series is kennel mate Victa Alby who was very impressive in winning his heat in a slick 29.51. He has drawn box 1 again in the semi-finals tonight and is engaged in race 7 due to start at 7.34 pm SA time. He meets a strong line up however he is in great form and he looks like a good hope to qualify.

On Saturday night the focus will be on NSW again and the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg semi-finals at Wentworth Park with SA having a strong hand in the series led by star sprinter Victa Damian for Lisa Rasmussen who was the fastest qualifier in the heats running 29.34 in winning by over 12 lengths. He has drawn box 7 in race 8 and if he can run in the top two he will qualify for the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg final on Saturday  8th April.

We wish you all the best of luck through this series.
