Angle Park Preview - 30th June 2022
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
We have another strong 12 event program here at headquarters tonight and there look to be several that we will need to go wide in to jag the Trifecta as they are wide open. We have three 595m events spread throughout the evening and they have been good to us of late on the punt. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events so lets back a winner or two as its TAX time.
Race 1 - Sambuca Talks can kick start our night from his good draw of 1, he was a last start winner here when showing pace on that occasion, he is one of the better chances again. Weblec Blade is another who has pace on lid rise, he is suited by the good draw and is a chance. Add Straight Blaze who is strong. Box Up 1.2.4.5
Race 2 - This is our Maiden of the evening and Fabrizio gets his chance to break through, he found a heap of trouble here last week and looks a major player. Bedrock Wally is on debut and must be respected as should Terrific Arnold. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 3 - Whiskey Soda has been placed at her last four here, she is well drawn but can be tardy when the lids open the draw brings her right into the mix. Agent Four is the big danger she has early pace and was a last start winner here. Fifty Eight along with Miss Scallywag for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 4 - This is the first of the 595m and you could box the field as this is wide open, I have gone with Me Same You who is a run on type. he can figure. Night Patrol has crossed the border and was a winner 2 runs back at Warrnambool over the 450m. Spring Monica is drawn to run a cheeky race. Box Up 1.4.6.8
Race 5 - Fantastic Dixie is the one to beat here on form, she has won her past two and has the good draw here tonight. Sister Roberta has ability, she has a good turn of box speed and has been in the money here in her three runs at the track. Mepunga Stellar is a strong type who is one for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 6 - This certainly is a wide open affair so it makes for a good First Four event, I have gone with Finniss Flash who is a chance of leading the inside brigade, he can run time and is amongst the better chances. Sutton Sandy who will be crossing from out wide she has been in the money at her 7 runs here but does struggle at times to run a strong 530m. Box Up 1.2.3.8
Race 7 - Run Like Jess gets his chance to win over the 530m here tonight, he can be right on the pace early from the good draw and is very strong. Maximum Refusal is the form runner winning his last four at Murray Bridge, he is the danger. Add the pacey Dakota Roxy who is racing well. Box Up 2.3.5.6
Race 8 - We can’t go past Don’t Tell Bluey here, he has been flying of late and his record of 9 wins and two placings from his 12 runs here is fantastic. He looks the winner again. Sunset Toxic along with Canya Razor for the Trifecta. Box Up 3 from 1.4.8
Race 9 - Mr. Ibrox is our selection here, he will be right in the mix early and is very strong in the run home. Contour has very good form over the 730m and is a big chance back in distance here with a clear run early, they look the main two here. Box Up 1.4.7.8
Race 10 - Tracie Price has Giant’s Flash in good form, he has won his last three here and loves a wide draw, he should take beating again in this. Beck’s Monelli is the danger, she has been racing well over the journey and is another who is very strong. Add Spring Illusion and Jack’s Well for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 11 - This is a toughie and I like Slipper’s Tick here who has the good draw of 1 and has the early pace to kick up early. Sutton Ebony is another who has early speed she could pinch this. Bella’s Flower and Home Invader for the minors. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 12 - Its always good to go home on a winner and lets hope Compulsory Hero can do that despite his poor draw, he has been in the money here in 6 of 8 and won here 3 runs back by a big margin when leading throughout. Researched and Cobalt Missile for the minors. Box Up 4.5.7.8

LOCAL NEWS
BEDROCK FRED LEADS THE LOCAL CHARGE INTERSTATE
SA owned and bred stayer Bedrock Fred has been in amazing form in Queensland over the last two weeks taking out the Group 3 Dashing Corsair final and then the Group 3 Super Stayers last week at Albion Park. Owned by Michael Ceravolo, Stewart Barber and Cherylee Barber he will be looking to feature in another Group final when he contests the heats of the Queensland Cup tonight. He is engaged in race 1 and has drawn box 2 with the first two from each heat qualifying for the Group 1 final next Thursday night.
Also in the heats will be SA owned Fantastic Radley who is engaged in race 2 box 1 and with a good second last week he looks to be getting back to his best.
In Victoria tonight, team Rasmussen has made the trip across with a number of greyhounds engaged at Sandown. The first of those is Jalapeno Lad in race 1 out of box 1 for Tony, he ran a nice second on Sunday at Sandown so is drawn well. In heat 2 of the McKenna Memorial over the 595m, which is race 6 Victa Grosso will come from box 2. He looks well placed and won in good fashion at Sandown last Sunday. Race 7 is the third heat of the McKenna Memorial and Mallee Magic has drawn box 7. He was a huge run on Sunday after finding plenty of trouble so it was a great effort to run third.
In the first heat of the McKenna Memorial which is race 5, Stout Monelli will go around from box 2. The star sprinter was sent across to David Geal a short time ago and looks primed to run a bold race for the local owners.
2022 GAWLER BREEDERS FINAL TOMORROW
There were only seven nominations for the Gawler Breeders 2022 over 531m tomorrow, so the race is now considered a final for $5,000. Whilst only seven runners the greyhounds are of the highest quality and have been matching up through the Group 3 Howard Ashton series and Gawler Produce last week. The race features Springvale Max, He’s All Purpose, Springvale Rex and Springvale Maddi just to name a few and will be race 5 due to start at 3.25pm tomorrow.

305M MASTERS AT MOUNT GAMBIER
Time band for Mount Gambier 305m Masters-
Previously GRSA had been using a policy for Masters events at Mount Gambier utilising the 277m distance, however, we had not adjusted this for the 305m until there was sufficient racing. At the most recent Grading Review Panel meeting it was decided to make the below changes and implement. The below policy will now be implemented for meetings conducted from 1st July 2022-
305m Masters Policy for Mount Gambier – With Mount Gambier GRC conducting one 305m Grade 5 Masters race each meeting where possible, the Grading Department determined conditions for these races using some of the conditions of normal Grade 5 Masters events, however, factoring in the restricted nature of the 305m distance. If a dog wins and runs faster than 17.75, it can still remain eligible for the next week, if the dog then wins and runs faster than 17.75 again it will be ineligible for the race and distance the following week. The dog will either run over another distance or will miss that week’s race. The following week it will then be eligible. If there is no 305m Masters race the greyhound has to miss the next time that race is conducted. This only refers to the greyhounds that win.
