Angle Park Preview - 24th March 2022
We have another strong 12 event program here at headquarters tonight and there look to be a couple of good things throughout the night, as always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.
Race 1 - It’s a toughie to kick start the night with and I have gone with Gemtree Apollo for Paul Rehmann, I am hoping he can lead and if able to do so will take beating. Velocity Teller is another who can muster early and she has won her past two here. Paul Keeping gets back early but is well drawn and is strong. Box Up 2.4.5.7
Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and we will go with Jalapeno Lad who is in the Rasmussen kennel, he can be hit and miss on lid rise but can improve from the inside draw. Vanilla Slick along with Spring Pony can figure. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - Flash Banner looks one of the better bets of the night, she has been in terrific form with two strong wins here and has the early pace to carve across and salute. On The Tequila has handy Gawler form and can run into the minors along with the well-drawn Zipping Princess. Box Up 1.4.5.7
Race 4 - This is our distance affair of the night and Dashing Wilma was very impressive when winning here last start by 8L from a wide draw, she only needs early luck to do the same again tonight. New Year Tears continues to earn money as does Zipping Nebraska who is drawn for another forward showing. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 5 - How strong is this 595M event, I have gone with Fantastic Victor here hoping he can lead from box 5, if he does he will take beating. Victa Haydn is working back to his best form and is drawn for a forward showing. Scorching Sun along with Weblec Mist are also contenders. Box Up 1.5.7.8
Race 6 - The Rasmussen kennel has four runners in the six dog field and Victa Grosso should take beating again on his recent racing. Victa Reid is the danger as he can kick up early. Add Victa Mikey and our value runner Jax Kade for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 7 - This is a wide open affair and Show Me Bucks has the form on the board with three wins from his last five, he has the early pace to lead and hopefully salute. The dangers look to be Barely’s Gem and Howling Hoss who are racing well. Box Up 1.4.6.8
Race 8 - Weblec Blade is my top pick here purely because of the draw, he was placed here four starts back and showed good pace from the rails and is a chance again. Teddy The Bear can handle the wide draw here he has been racing well and looks one of the main chances. Box Up 1.6.7.8
Race 9 - Midnight Tracker only won his Maiden four runs back here and has been handy since, he just needs to improve his box manners to have a big say here. Oscar Rose along with Benitoite who can improve from the nice draw. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 10 - Fantastic Faith looks to be a handy youngster, she won here two runs back from this draw in good time and should be able to carve across early and score. Outback Rebel has been placed in four of his last five and is drawn to be in the mix again. Lucius Malfoy is on debut here in SA and must be kept safe.
Race 11 - Spring Casper is our top pick here, he was a last start winner at Gawler in a BOD 30.79 and has won here in the past from this draw. Zipping Rafferty is a run on type who looks the improver from an inside box draw. Add Speed Limit who has been placed in four of his last five here and Gawler. Box Up 1.2.4.5
Race 12 - The Don Turner trained Under Study is our top pick here, she has won her past couple over this trip and is well drawn. Plausible Dream has early pace at times and could pinch this. Helmet Giblet along with Queen Of Fire are chances. Box up 1.2.4.8

GAWLER TO RACE ON MONDAY 28TH MARCH DUE TO ANGLE PARK AIR CONDITIONER UPGRADE IN KENNEL HOUSE
GRSA has organised for the air-conditioner upgrade in the control area of the Angle Park kennel house and they require a 5 day block for this to be completed.
As such, the meeting on Monday 28 March is a Gawler meeting with Prov1 grading and prizemoney. There will be trials at Gawler on the Monday morning as normal.
At this stage the trials at Angle Park on Saturday 26th March and Tuesday 29th March can proceed without access to the kennel control area.
GRSA will continue to keep the industry updated if any further changes.
2022 GAWLER PRODUCE – FINAL PAYMENT DUE ON FRIDAY, 1ST APRIL
After the second payment was made in January there are still 116 greyhounds eligible for the 2022 Gawler Produce series which is terrific for the Club and is shaping as another exciting series.
The Final is guaranteed at $22,000 which has a $10,000 bonus if a greyhound can win both the Produce Final in June and the Gawler Gold Cup Final in November later this year. The racing dates for this series will be Heats on Friday, 10th June 2022, Semi-Finals on Sunday, 19th June 2022 and the Final on Sunday, 26th July 2022
BREEDERS 2022 PRELUDE (2) HEATS MOVED BACK 1 WEEK TO AVOID GAWLER FUTURE STARS
GRSA advise that the Breeders 2022 Prelude (2) heats at Angle Park that were programmed on Monday 18th April have been rescheduled and will be run on Monday 25th April with the final on Monday 2nd May.
This will now avoid the Gawler Future Stars series where the final is scheduled to be run on Sunday 17th April. As both series draw from the exact same pool of SA Bred greyhounds the change gives the opportunity for trainers to nominate and the Clubs to run both events.
With the change this will still give greyhounds that qualify for the Breeders 2022 Prelude (2) final on 2nd May, 10 days until the Group 3 Howard Ashton Heats on Thursday 12th May.
NEXT GRADING REVIEW PANEL MEETING
The next Grading Review Panel meeting will be held at GRSA on Friday, April 8.
An Agenda is currently being compiled and will be sent out to the panel closer to the meeting date for discussion at the meeting

ANGLE PARK’S 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND $5OK TO THE WINNER ON FRIDAY 29TH APRIL
After consultation with Greyhound Racing Victoria, Greyhound Racing SA is very appreciative that they have swapped their Friday night meeting on April 29th with Angle Park’s Thursday night meeting on April 28th.
This will mean that Angle Park can celebrate our 50th Anniversary with a big night planned on a Friday night along with increased prizemoney of $50,000 to the winner for the Anniversary Cup Final on the night.
The night itself will be very much like an Adelaide Cup atmosphere with plenty of entertainment for families as we celebrate 50 years at Angle Park. The feature Anniversary Cup Final, offering $50k to the winner will be sure to provide a high quality line up of sprinters, locally and interstate, with Heats for this event on Thursday, 22nd April. Coinciding with the Anniversary Cup Final is the SA Distance Championship Final worth $10k to the winner with Heats also run on Thursday, 22nd April.
Other changes will be the Gawler Friday meeting on 29th April will now be run on Thursday, 28th April in the twilight timeslot. GRSA appreciates the support of GRVIC and Sky Racing in regard to these changes.
