TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
Tonight here at Angle Park we have another strong eleven-event program and if you like a First Four then  Race 8 is the pick of them to have a crack at, I went with Ragin’ Riot who has a good turn-off box speed and from the rails draw can lead here for a long way, she does struggle over the last 50m but let’s hope she is way out in front. The dangers look to be Balonne Boy who was impressive here first up when winning in 30.66, he is a strong type and should be respected. Add Agent Nine Nine who is another that has good box speed, she has been in good form and will be right in the mix. Victa Kerle rounds out the First Four.

LOCAL NEWS
COULD BE KING, RAVERS ARMY & YARRAMUNDI PAUL ALL SHOOTING FOR “EASTAR” TIME TONIGHT
A winner of 3 of his 7 starts with 2 placings, Could Be King for trainer Ben Rawlings will be solo trialling tonight in between races at Angle Park to log a time that could see him jump into the top 8 standings of the Eastar Match Race series. One of the most exciting young chasers in the State he possesses a brilliant run home time so it will be interesting to see the time he can post running solo.

Also trialling tonight will be Ravers Army for trainer Tim Aloisi in between races in an attempt to post a quick time for the Eastar. He is a winner of 13 of his 35 starts with 11 placings and is one of only two greyhounds to have broken 34 seconds for the 595m journey at Angle Park. He has speed and strength so the Match Race conditions should suit him if he can elevate himself into the top 8.

Rounding out the three trials for the Easter Match Race is Yarramundi Paul for Vadim Roz. He is a winner of 7 of his 33 starts with 18 placings and a recent placegetter in the SA St Leger where he flew home from last. He should appreciate clear running in his solo trial tonight and hopefully post a slick time.

LOCAL GREYHOUND STARS AT SANDOWN TONIGHT AND WENTWORTH PARK SATURDAY NIGHT
After qualifying through the SA Launching Pad series, Live It for trainer Tony Rasmussen is engaged in the heats of the rich Launching Pad series at Sandown tonight and will be looking to make it 4 wins on the bounce. She is in race 7 due to go at 7.58 pm SA time and has come up with the favourable draw of box 1 however she has come up against some smart ones in Trooper Tears and Meteor Monelli. If she can progress through the series the semi-finals will be on Thursday 30th March with the $150,000 to the winner on Thursday, 6th April. Also joining her in the series is kennel mate Victa Alby who has also drawn box 1 in race 6 due to start at 7.40 pm SA time. He meets a strong line up however after winning at the Meadows two starts ago he looks a good chance to qualify.

On Saturday night the focus will be on NSW and the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg heats at Wentworth Park with SA having a strong hand led by star sprinter Victa Damian for Lisa Rasmussen. The last start Group 1 Australian Cup placegetter heads back to Wentworth Park where he won the Group 1 National Derby back in January. He has drawn box 8 in race 3 and matches up against the likes of Kelsey Bale so the racing will be tough however he should be able to get over the line and qualify for the semi-finals on Saturday 1st April.

He is joined in the series by kennel mates Queen Of Scotch and Victa Marli who have both performed really well at Wentworth Park through the National Futurity series back in January. Queen Of Scotch for Tony has drawn box 3 in race 9 and Victa Marli has drawn box 7 in race 10 with both hoping for a touch of luck.

We wish you all the best of luck through this series.

GROUP 3 MOUNT GAMBIER CUP HEATS THIS SUNDAY
There will be seven $3,000 Heats of the Carlin & Gazzard Group 3 Mount Gambier Cup run this Sunday, 26th March in what looks to be an outstanding series. With a mix of South East local performers, Metro and Interstate greyhounds the racing will be tight and competitive. Feature greyhounds in the heats look to be Group 2 Warragul Cup placegetter Titan Blazer for Daniel Gibbons back for another crack at the Mt Gambier Cup, also from the Gibbons kennel Group 3 SA Oaks winner Yahiro Bale, SA GOTY Finalist Springvale Max for Gavin Harris, SA Sprint Champion Springvale Roxy for Mike Giniotis, Group 2 Golden Sands finalist at Albion Park Lektra Rhino for Dave Knocker and recent Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup winner Panorama for Ben Rawlings who is shooting for an extra $5,000 bonus if she can win both Cups and a $5,000 bonus if Ben can train the winner of both Cups. The Cup heats are races 5 to 11 on Sunday.

The winners and the fastest second-placed greyhound will qualify for the Group 3 final worth $36,000 on Sunday, 2nd April with the box draw to be completed after the running of the final race on the course on Sunday.
