Racing News

Tonight we have two heats of the 2022 SA Distance Championship (races 3 & 4) and three heats of the 2022 50TH Anniversary Cup (races 5 to 7) over the 530m, it certainly makes for an interesting night of racing. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - It’s a toughie to kick off with and Burnt Now was a last start winner here in 30.76, he is well drawn here and looks one of the better chances on his last run. Paul Keeping is a strong type, he lacks early pace but will be running on strongly. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and Spring Monica is on debut here tonight, the Board kennel rarely produces one first up without winning and must be kept safe. Spring Pony along with Jalapeno Lad are racing well. Box Up 1.2.4.6

Race 3 - The 1st heat of the Distance Championship and we will go with New Year Tears who has been in terrific form winning three of his last five, he looks the leader again and will go close. Victa Haydn is the interesting runner, he is a strong performer who can run time over the 595m and 530m, he will be worth watching. Zipping Nebraska for the Tri. Box Up 2.4.6.8

Race 4 - The 2nd of the distance heats an I am going with Weblec Star who has the pace to lead and has won here in the past. Mr. Ibrox has won his past two and can handle the draw. Add Lashes Monelli who has a terrific record over this trip and must be kept safe. Box Up 2.5.7.8

Race 5 - The 1st of the Cup Heats and Fantastic Victor is the one to beat, he carved out a slick 30.09 run when winning the Match Race series last week and looks the one to beat again. Kinrock Star is a handy type he can run a cheeky race from down on the fence. Springvale Maddi loves a wide draw and is one for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 6 - Don’t Tell Bluey was very impressive when winning here last week in 30.11 from a wide draw he is the form runner. Victa Grosso can carve out quick times when on song he will take beating if he lands on the lure. Auspicious Queen is an interstater who must be kept safe. Jack’s Well is drawn to run a cheeky race. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 7 - The last of the heats and Aston Ulysses has been racing well in Victoria, he has won three of his last four and should take beating. Mallee Magic can run time when on the lure he can show pace at times and must be kept safe. Teddy The Bear is drawn to run into the First Four. Box Up 1.5.7.8

Race 8 - Charlee's Misty won here three runs back in 30.83 from this draw then had a short campaigned in Melbourne in tough company, she is well drawn and will be hard to toss. Spring Casper will be running on strongly along with Mrs. Missile. Rosie Red has early pace and could be the blow out. Box Up 1.2.3.5

Race 9 - We will go with Sister Roberta here, she has only had the two starts here in SA for two wins both over the short however looks hard to beat over the 530m.  Alcheringa Blaze is well drawn again and can figure on his latest effort. Midnight Tracker is strong and will be running on late. Box Up 3.2.5.7

Race 10 - Queen Of Fire found a heap of trouble here last start, she can bounce back from the good draw and was racing well prior. Dakota Roxy has early pace, she won here three runs back and must be respected. Victa Emma has been placed here in 4 of her 5 runs this trip. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 11 - This certainly is a wide open affair but ill go with Danyo's Mercy who is well drawn here, she can kick up early and run a cheeky race. Cosmic Kid has been placed in his last three and is drawn to have every chance. Cruze Maguire made late ground here last week after being slow away and is a major player. Box Up 7.2.1.4

Race 12 - George The First can send us home on a winning note, he has the pace to lead and can run time out in front.  Danyo's Charlie was placed from this draw last run and can show early pace at times. All Show has a terrific strike rate from the inside draw and could be the blow out. GRSA advised previously that the Breeders 2022 Prelude (2) Heats at Angle Park that were programmed on Monday, 18th April have been rescheduled and will be run on Monday 25th April with the Final on Monday, 2nd May. This avoided a clash with the Gawler Future Stars series.
