We have a MASSIVE night ahead of us here at headquarters with the heats of the 2023 SA Distance Championship (races 3 and 4 ), it's been a long time since we have had 14 stayers grace the Angle Park loam in one night. To top it off we have 3 intense heats of the 2023 SA Anniversary Cup races ( 5 to 7 ) over the 530m, so it makes a good night for punting and I have several good things throughout the evening.

SA DISTANCE HEATS AND SA ANNIVERSARY CUP HEATS TONIGHT AT ANGLE PARK
There are two heats of the SA Distance Championship tonight to be run over the 730m which are races 3 and 4 on the program. Leading contenders for the series look to be Dashing Jinx, Yarramundi Paul, Zipping Senorita, Springvale Rex, My Mate Snow and Zipping Patch. The final will be worth $10,000 to the winner also to be held next Thursday night at Angle Park. The first four from each Heat will qualify for the final with the Box Draw to be conducted on the course after the running of race 5.
There are also three Heats tonight for next week's $00,000 to the winner Anniversary Cup Final, with the first two placegetters and two fastest-thirds qualifying for the feature event. They are races 5 to 7 and feature some exciting chasers with the likes of Springvale Roxy, He’s On Fire, Queen Of Scotch, Springvale Maddi, Victa Alby and Murray Bridge Cup winner Panorama all engaged throughout the series.
The Box Draw will be conducted on the course tonight after the running of Race 8.
BREEDERS 2023 PRELUDE (2) HEATS ON MONDAY NIGHT
There are two heats of the Breeders 2023 Prelude (2) series at Angle Park on Monday night with 15 nominations received. They are races 3 and 4 on the program with the final to be run the following Monday 1st May.
2023 GROUP 3 HOWARD ASHTON HEATS – NOMINATIONS CLOSE MONDAY 8TH MAY
The major race for Breeders 2023 is Group 3 Howard Ashton. Trainers are reminded that the $3,700 Heats will be run on Thursday, 11th May.
These will be followed by the $4,500 Semi-Finals on May 18th and the $37,500 Final on May 25th.
This race is for greyhounds that are eligible for Breeders 2023. Greyhounds didn't have to compete in the Preludes to run in the Group 3 Howard Ashton.
• Nominations for the Heats close on Monday, 8th May with GRSA at 9.00 am.
GOTBA COURSING KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND
GOTBA at Virginia will hold their first Coursing meeting for 2023 this Sunday, 23rd April.

• Nominations for Gawler Sunday (30/4), Angle Park Monday (1/5) and Murray Bridge Tuesday (2/5) close at 9am with GRSA on Thursday 27/4/23

MURRAY BRIDGE STAT TRIALS
Please be advised that Satisfactory Trials at Murray Bridge on Wednesday nights will be conducted fortnightly due to staffing issues. The next fortnightly opportunity will be Wednesday 26th April.
