Angle Park Preview - 19th May 2022

Racing News

We have another strong 12 event program here at headquarters here tonight and two Semis of the Howard Ashton 2022 series which are races (3 and 4) with the first four from each Semi going through to next weeks Final. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four and in recent weeks we have been going very well on the punt so lets hope we can keep it up.

Race 1 - It certainly is a toughie to kick start the night but I have gone with Extinguish who has been racing well of late, he is in box 2 here and is a chance of leading. Yarramundi Skira will be running on strongly from her good draw and is amongst the chances as is Easy Street. Box Up 1.2.5.7

Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the evening and I will follow my money with Harry, he has finally got a decent draw here tonight and gets his chance. The dangers look to be On The Whisky’s ( that’s what I will be doing if Harry gets beat) and Watch On out in box 8. Dashing Deb is a 1st starter and must be kept safe. Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 3 - This is the 1st of the Semis and its very hard to tip against He’s All Purpose, he has been flying of late and only bad luck would beat him. Springvale Rex will be running on strongly from his good draw, add Air Pumbaa who ran on strongly here last week to record a 30.57 victory. 4 from 2.3.6 boxed.

Race 4 - The 2nd of the Semis and Springvale Max was very impressive when winning here last Thursday in a BON 30.38, he will take beating on that effort. Archman must be respected from his draw of 2 as he will be running on strongly but is tardy early. Black Cobra has each way appeal again as he has early pace. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 5 - Kinrock Star is well down in grade here and should start at skinny odds, he has been in terrific form and should run time. Impeached has early pace and looks the Quinella, he has 4 wins from his last 5 here and Murray Bridge. add Orson Katie for the minors. 3.4.8 for $1

Race 6 - Spanish Miss is our top pick here, she has form at Sandown and the Meadows over 600M and will be the one they have to beat here. Line Seeker has won here in the past and has been placed here over this trip on three occasions. Locked was a big winner at Gawler last start and could surprise. Box Up 1.2.5.6

Race 7 - Jack’s Well has been racing in Open company of late and finds himself right down in grade here tonight and looks a major chances if he is on song he can get back early and if he happens to land close to the leaders will take beating. Lucius Malfoy has early pace and is more than capable of pinching this he is in form and looks well drawn. Box Up 3.4.7.8

Race 8 - The Lauren Harris trained Don’t Tell Bluey is our top selection here, he looks the leader and can run time with a clear run early. Victa Grosso is another who can carve out quick times when on the lure he is the danger and is well drawn out wide you could throw the field in for 3rd as they all are chances. 3.6.F

Race 9 - This is over the distance and we will stick with Fantastic Radley who continues to run quick times, he has won four of his last five and should prove to strong again. Victa Haydn has been in the money at his last four over this trip and is a chance of leading. We can’t leave Lashes Monelli out as she is knocking on the door. Box Up 1.4.6.8

Race 10 - Tough event this one with several chances I have gone with the well-drawn Researched who has the pace to kick up early and hopefully pinch this. Her kennel mate Very Jiggling is having her 1st start here in SA, was placed last start at Warrnambool over the 450M she looks amongst the chances. Add Universal Value who has been racing well at Gawler. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 11 - Zinfandel Nikki rattled home here last week to run 2nd she is drawn to break through tonight. Impress Raja is having her 1st run here in SA and was placed at the Gardens last month and is amongst the chances. Spring Agatha and Brief for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 12 - Hugs And Kisses can send us home on a winning note, she is a strong type who is drawn to have every chance. Spring Line has handy form over the short and has won over this trip in the past she is a chance as is Charlee’s Misty who will have to ping the lids to cross. Box Up 1.2.4.7

SA GREYHOUNDS INTERSTATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY NIGHT

It will be a big night of racing tonight at Sandown in Victoria with the Group 1 Sapphire Crown, Group 1 Harrison Dawson and Group 1 Sandown Cup finals huge highlights on the night and we will have plenty of SA flavour on the program.

In the Group 1 Sapphire Crown (race 6) SA Owner Ed Burrett will have Let’s Win Coin competing from box 3 after running second in her heat last week. She can produce the odd blow out result so for Ed’s sake he will be hoping she can produce her best at Group 1 level.

In race 7 a few locally owned stayers who were unlucky not to make the Sandown Cup final go around in the Cup Night Stayers Feature. SA Bred and Owned by Nathan and Kerri Wilson, Hank The Hustler has drawn box 2 while SA Bred by Gavin Harris and SA Owned by Michael Ceravolo, Bedrock Fred has drawn box 5. Both look great chances of finishing in the placings. Also it goes without saying that SA owner Ray Borda has plenty of chances with the “Aston” dogs in the features tonight and supporting program.

It will also be a huge program on Saturday night in Western Australia at Cannington with the final of the WA Derby and heats of the WA Oaks.

In the first heat of the WA Oaks (race 5) local trainer Ben Rawlings has Sister Roberta engaged who has been in great form locally however box 6 will test her at Group 2 level. Ben had no luck in the box draws with travelling companion I’m Gifted Too drawing box 5 in the second heat of the Oaks (race 6). She has also had terrific form in SA and hopefully they can offset the boxes and qualify for the box final next week.
