INDUSTRY CONSULTATIVE GROUP PANEL MEETING OUTCOMES – MAIN POINTS
• There will only be one provisional breeders license being provided to multiple participants residing at the same residence. All other applications would be dealt with on a case by case basis. For implementation TBA.
• 2 in 7 starts and 7 in 28 starts rule. The ICG agreed that a 10 day stand down period would be an appropriate penalty for those that knowingly nominated greyhounds that would be ineligible due to the rule. It was suggested any further infringements could attract a monetary penalty. To clarify, any penalty would only apply once the dog had gone around, not in instances with late scratchings etc. It is the trainer’s responsibility to be aware of this rule and their implications. For implementation TBA.
• The ICG panel confirmed and supported a $100 fine for any late pink Card applications. For implementation TBA.
• The ICG panel supported all trialling to be booked through the Trial Booker process to ensure specific criteria is met. Management to investigate amending trial booker into group categories to achieve greater efficiency at the session. For implementation TBA.
