Tonight here at Angle Park we have another strong evening of racing and race 8 is one to look at over the 530m, a Grade 4/5 event where Molly Irish is my top selection for Rob Harnas. He has her racing well winning two of her last five here over this trip, she has the pace to ping and cross from the draw and will be very hard to beat again. Victa Reid is the danger for mine, he has been very consistent in recent starts finishing in the money at his last four. Add Top Model who should get a nice run early and Velocity Tahnie for the First Four.

BREEDERS 2023 PRELUDE (1) FINAL ON MONDAY NIGHT
There were three $2,200 Heats of Prelude (1) for Breeders 2023 conducted last Monday night at Angle Park with the $4,500 Final to be run this Monday, 1st May.

BREEDERS 2023 PRELUDE (2) HEATS ON 24TH APRIL
$2,200 Heats of Prelude (2) for Breeders 2023 will be run on Monday, 24th April at Angle Park.
The series is for all greyhounds eligible for Breeders 2023 with the $4,500 Final to be run on Monday, 1st May.

GROUP 3 MOUNT GAMBIER CUP HEATS ON SUNDAY 26TH MARCH WITH BIG BONUSES ATTACHED TO THE FINAL – NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON TUESDAY
The $3,000 Carlin & Gazzard Group 3 Mount Gambier Cup Heats will be run on Sunday, 26th March with the $36,000 (Group 3) Final on Sunday, 2nd April.

With Panorama for the trainer, Ben Rawlings taking out the Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup if this greyhound can also win the Mount Gambier Cup Final connections will get a $5,000 bonus and if Ben Rawlings can win the Mount Gambier Cup with any of his greyhounds he will get a $5,000 trainer bonus.
“EASTAR” MATCH RACE TRIALLING CONDITIONS - FIRST OPPORTUNITY 23rd MARCH
Trials will be conducted on Thursday, 23rd March and Thursday, 30th March at the Angle Park race meetings over the 530m. There will be up to eight trials conducted each night, with a maximum of two dogs per trial with a total of 8 greyhounds trialling per night. These trials will be run between races at the discretion of the stewards. Trainers must book these trials with Greyhound Racing SA by 11.00 am on the day.
Greyhounds will be eligible to trial at the total discretion of the Grader where a trainer may have to provide information in support of trialling. Local eligibility conditions still apply.
Each greyhound will only be allowed to trial once in an effort to improve their position or obtain a spot on the list.
LOCAL MATCH RACE SERIES “THE SA EASTAR” IN APRIL
The SA Local Match Race series coined “The SA Eastar” will be held on Thursday night, 6th April (Easter) at Angle Park.
Eligibility for South Australian local greyhounds will be based on Nationals conditions. They will need to be trained in SA 76 days out of the last 150 prior to the close of nominations.
Selection for this series will only be based on winning times at Angle Park. For greyhounds that have run over the 530m at Angle Park on any meeting since 1st November 2022 their fastest winning time will be recognised and put them on the list for selection.
The head-to-head matches will be decided based on the final listing and nominations. Match 1 will be 1 v 4, Match 2 will be 2 v 3, Match 3 will be 5 v 8 and Match 4 will be 6 v 7. There will be no manual selection from the Grader. The top 4 seeded greyhounds will be rewarded with more prizemoney.

There will be a $500 Runner’s Up. Overall SA Eastar winner (based on overall times) - $6,000, second $2,500, third $1,500.

2023 GAWLER PRODUCE – FINAL PAYMENT DUE ON FRIDAY, 31st MARCH
After the second payment was made in January there are still 116 greyhounds eligible for the 2023 Gawler Produce series which is the same as last year and is shaping as another terrific series.
The Final is guaranteed at $22,000 which has an $11,000 bonus if a greyhound can win both the Produce Final in June and the Gawler Gold Cup Final in November later this year. The racing dates for this series will be Heats on Friday, 9th June 2023, Semi-Finals on Sunday, 18th June 2023 and the Final on Sunday, 25th June 2023.
595M EASTER CUP HEATS COMING UP ON APRIL 6th
The $6,015 Heats of the Mixed Easter Cup will be run over 595m for a $7,750 Final on Thursday, 6th April. Trainers need to nominate for this event with all Grades considered.

EASTER FEATURES AT GAWLER ON EASTER SUNDAY
Easter racing comes to Gawler in April with both the Gawler Future Stars Final and Gawler Easter Sprint programmed on Sunday, 9th April.
The Gawler Future Stars Heats will be conducted for SA Bred greyhounds whelped in 2021 on Friday, 31st March over the 531m with a $3,500 Final on Easter Sunday, 9th April. Also on Easter Sunday will be the Gawler Easter Sprint for mixed greyhounds over the 531m worth $5,000. (Trainers must nominate for this feature with all grades considered). It’s going to be a terrific night of racing on Sunday night over the Easter break.
