TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

We have another 12 event program here at headquarters tonight and the highlight is two heats of the 2022 Bayroad Queen over the 730m ( races 5 and 6 ), both look to have several chances so it will make it interesting for the punters. As always all events are Trifecta and First Four races and we have been on the right side of the ledger in the past month so let’s hope we can continue the run.

Race 1 - The night starts with a Maiden event over the 530m and we have gone with Jessore who has handy form and has been showing pace from the boxes, he looks the one to catch. Undoing is a youngster from the Tony Rasmussen team and must be respected. She’s Blushing was placed here last start from a wide draw when running on strongly. Box Up 2.4.5.8

Race 2 - This is a wide-open affair, I have gone with Gemtree Apollo who has been mixing his form at Murray Bridge, he is a chance of leading and could pinch this at odds. The one to beat is Fantastic Dixie, she has been well in the market at her three runs since arriving here in SA but can be tardy early. Mississippi Blue has been in form at Gawler and is well drawn. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 3 - Mike Giniotis has been training for a long time and he has Springvale Roxy is superb form, she has won four of her last five and is the one to beat again. Mr. Ibrox can be tardy early as we all know, he will be running on strongly. Whiskey Soda is one for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.4.5.8

Race 4 - Zinfandel Bart gets his chance to bounce back into the winner’s circle here, he has been well in the market in recent runs and should be very handy in the run into the back. Bella’s Flower along withy Mo Slater are chances for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.4.5.8

Race 5 - This is the 1st of two heats of the Bayroad Queen over the 730m and its very hard to go past Victa Haydn who broke through for a much-deserved win here last start over Lashes Monelli, he has the pace to cross and win. Beck’s Monelli is the danger she loves to run a place and is getting close to breaking through. Run Like Jess is well drawn. Box Up 1.2.5.7

Race 6 - The 2nd of the Bayroad Queen heats and I have gone with Weblec Star who has a very good record here over this trip, she looks a chance of leading and is more than capable of showing up. The danger is Lashes Monelli who should start the punters elect, she is a strong type who can never be overlooked. New Year Tears and Contour for the 1st four. Box up 1.3.4.6

Race 7 - This is over the 595m and the well-drawn Victa Reid who is in box 1 looks one of the better chances in an open affair, he can run time when on the lure. Locked has early pace, he was placed at Murray Bridge last run after finding early trouble. Danyo’s Mercy along with Weblec Pearl are chances. Box up 1.3.5.7

Race 8 - Don’t Tell Bluey has been in terrific form, he has won his last four here in open company and has a good turn of early pace. Sunset Toxic is another in form, he has wins here and Gawler and is the danger. Razzle Darryl is a chance for the Trifecta punter at good odds. Box Up 3.4.5.6

Race 9 - Nangar Ellie is a chance here despite the draw, she has handy form over the 530m and is our top selection here. Very Jiggling is well drawn and is a chance along with Extremely both can figure as they are strong. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 10 - Canya Razor has been in good form, the Rasmussen sprinter can carve out slick times when on the lure, he has the pace to lead and is our top pick. Scorching Sun can never be left out, he has been in the money in his last five here and is very close to a win. Classic McLaren will be running on from the draw. Box up 1.2.4.7

Race 11 - This is a wide-open affair and Got The Swagger was very impressive 1st up here in SA when running 2nd, he looks to be a handy type and is well drawn. The Rasmussen pair of Victa Emma and Victa Kurt are racing well, they are big chances again on recent racing. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 12 - On The Tequila found trouble here last run from box 5 when showing pace, she has a very good strike rate here and will go close. Occipital Eyes is my selection at each way odds he just needs to be closer in the run to break the drought. Box Up 2.5.7.8

This payment is for greyhounds for which the combined First and Second Sustaining Payment was made. The Final Payment is $121 per greyhound.
Breeders 2023 – Second Payment (Pups born January 21 to June 21)
This payment is for greyhounds for which the First Sustaining Payment was made last December. The Second Sustaining Payment is $55 per pup or a Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage.

OLD BRIDGE CLOSURES AT MURRAY BRIDGE
GRSA have been advised that there are major works now underway to safeguard the future of the Old Murray Bridge. To allow these works to be carried out safely, traffic on the bridge has been reduced to a single lane, operating in one direction at a time with temporary traffic lights at each end.
Temporary bridge closures outside of peak times are required as part of the project.
The next temporary bridge closures are planned to take place from 9:30am to 2:30pm on the following days (weather permitting):
· Tuesday, 21 June, · Tuesday, 5 July.
A detour will be in place via the Swanport Bridge during these closures.
Bridge access will be maintained for pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency services during the temporary closure. Existing temporary pedestrian and cyclist restrictions under the bridge will remain in place.
GRSA recommends these trainers engaged at Murray Bridge race meetings or travelling from Murray Bridge towards the city to please plan ahead and allow extra time to get to the relevant race meetings.
