We have another terrific night of racing here at headquarters with a 12-event program as we head towards the 4-day break over Easter. Hopefully we can back a winner or two which can hopefully get us through, the highlight is the Eastar Match Race series and with several top class sprinters engaged they can scorch the Angle Park loam.
Race 1 - The night kicks off with a Maiden event and we will go with Southbound who is on his debut, the well-bred youngster is well drawn and looks amongst the chances. Jalapeno Lad has got plenty of my money in recent weeks and can’t be left out of calculations. Box Up 1.4.6.8
Race 2 - This is over the 730M and Frankie Boy is back in town, he has a very good record here with 10 wins from his 14 starts and will be hard to beat again. New Year Tears is the form runner he can show early pace at times and will be very hard to beat. Dashing Wilma is well boxed. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - These are the runners in the Match Race series, I will go with Jack’s Well as he has been racing well and with only the two runners can run quick time. Fantastic Victor is another who is in form he should jump to the front and has run 30.09 here in the past. Victa Haydn is the one that may be the smokey in a two dog affair. 2.8.5.1 for mine
Race 4 - Winner’s Win was a last start winner at Murray Bridge over the short in quick time, he has only had the two runs here in SA since arriving from NSW and comes to town for the 1st time and is drawn for a bold showing. Midnight Tracker along with Researched are big dangers. Box up 1.2.4.7
Race 5 - Threaten resumed with a handy win at Gawler over the 400M from this draw he has been in the money at his last 5 and will give this a big shake. Alfieri trialed well here and is drawn for a forward showing. Major Major is always a chance if he steps. Box up all the evens 2.4.6.8
Race 6 - This is the Easter Cup over the 595m and we will stick with Mallee Magic who is in form and loves a wide draw, he has the pace to cross and go on and salute. Lashes Monelli is on the improve and is well drawn. Victa Reid and Weblec Star are big chances. Box Up 1.2.6.7
Race 7 - Don’t Tell Bluey is our top pick here in this, he can be hit and miss on lid rise but with his above average ability he can go very close. Teddy The Bear is another who has been in form the well-travelled sprinter, is drawn to give this a big shake. Box Up 1.2.4.6
Race 8 - Tough affair this one, I have gone with Cruze Maguire in box 4, he has been racing well and can run time when out on the lure. Flora Colossus along with the pacey Ferocious Steve can run into the money. Box Up 1.2.3.4
Race 9 - Primed has been racing well with three wins from his last five here at headquarters, he should get a clear run here and looks the one to beat. George The First has a handy record this trip and is the danger. Add Kingsville Flyer and Run Like Jess for the First Four. Box Up 2.4.6.8
Race 10 - Spring Harbour has the good draw and on recent racing looks the one they will have to beat, he has the pace to kick up early and is amongst the chances. Alcheringa Blaze will be running on strongly and is our value runner and must be respected. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 11 - The likely leader here should be Flash Banner, she never runs a bad race and from the draw will be very hard to toss. Victa Emma continues to be tardy early and will be doing her best work late. Queen On Fire is another who is a strong type, but the draw is the concern. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 12 - I’m Gifted Too can send us home on a winner, the short course performer comes to town tonight and will be hard to beat. Zipping Rafferty and Under Study can run the trifecta. Box Up 1.2.4.5
