Angle Park Preview - 13th October 2022
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
We have 11 races on the card here tonight and I definitely need to improve on my tipping from last Friday Night where I was atrocious and left with an EMPTY WALLET! I hope I can bounce back and pick a few winners on another tough card. As always, all events are Trifecta and the first Four races.
Race 1 - We kick off with a maiden and Basso’s Girl is well-drawn and is knocking on the door. She has been placed here at her last 3 and is very close to breaking through. Bernardo Bowl is the first starter and is drawn to have every chance 1st up for the Rasmussen team. Add Lena jinx and Silver Lad for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 2 - The 2nd of the maidens and Victa Speed continues to show early pace in his races, he looks like the likely leader again and this is his chance to break his maiden. Enticement along with Uno Peanut can figure with luck early. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 3 - Victa Tony is drawn to lead and win. He was the last start winner here from this draw in 30.79 and should be able to do the same again in this. Zipping Daria will be running on strongly the small field will help and she is the danger. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 4 - This is a wide-open affair and I like Agent Nine Nine who has tardy beginners on her inside. She might be able to cross them early despite the draw and salute the judge. Miss Free Reign can kick up from the rails and run a cheeky race at her 1st run here in SA. Box Up 1.2.7.8
Race 5 - With only the six starters here I have gone with Molly Irish. She can show an early pace and with moderate beginners around her, she might be able to kick away and pinch this. Spring Pony gets back early and will be running on late as will Weblec Nova. Box Up 1.5.7.8
Race 6 - Terrific Janine has been in the money at her last five at Murray Bridge over the short and has been placed here in two of five - this could be her night! Alvin Rose is having his 1st run here in SA and with 2 wins and 12 placings from 29, is amongst the chances. Box up 14.2.4.7
Race 7 - There are several chances here and I went with the well-drawn Spring Phoebe down in box 1. She was runner-up here last week when showing early pace and is drawn to have every chance. Fantastic Faith along with the speedy French Wish is one for the Trifecta punters. Box Up 1.2.7.8
Race 8 - Winning form is good form and Ebby Tock has won her last four at Mount Gambier and Gawler, all in good times and is the one to beat if she can handle the track 1st up. Hoogley cost me last week (talking from my empty wallet!) and is the danger tonight. Box up 1.4.5.7
Race 9 - With only the Four runners I am tipping a Trengove First Four. Dashing Jinx is drawn to go to the front early and is the one to beat. Chatting is very strong and looks the quinella. 1.7.5.3 for $1
Race 10 - Express Speed is a lot better than his recent form. He is a chance of leading here tonight and will take a beating if he can. Run Like Jess has been in the money here in 7 of his 9 starts, he is very strong and can handle the wide draw. Occiptal Eyes was very well supported here three runs back from this draw and is amongst the better chances. Box Up 1.2.6.8
Race 11 - Razzle Darryl is very smart when on song and can run a handy time when left alone early - must be respected. Woodside Brockie has been showing an early pace and is very close to a win. Add Show Me Bucks and Bullying for the First Four. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Best Bets
Race 4, No: 7 – Agent Nine Nine
