Angle Park Preview - 12th May 2022
Tonight here at headquarters we have three heats of the 2022 Howard Ashton series (races 3 to 5) over the 530M, they look pretty even bar heat two where He’s All Purpose looks a good thing but will be very short. Race 9 over the 730M looks a ripper on paper and on a good track it will be interesting what time they can carve out. As always all race are Trifecta and First Four events.
Race 1 - This is a Maiden and Spring Monica has been placed here in her three starts, she is well drawn here tonight and is ready to break through. On The Whiskey’s has a good turn of early pace and is amongst the chances. She’s Blushing has been placed twice at Geelong in her 3 runs and must be respected. Box Up 1.2.8.4
Race 2 - The 2nd of the Maidens and we will stick with Harry, he hasn’t been that far away in recent starts and the small field is a bonus. Doctor Jason is on debut the well-bred youngster has the good draw. Watch On can run into the trifecta. 4.1.6.8 for $1
Race 3 - This is the 1st of the heats and Springvale Max has the form on the board, he can show early pace at times and has ability, he is our top selection. Our Boy Jake is well drawn here he has been on the improve and is a place chance. Add Flora Colossus who is better than his past couple suggests. Box Up 5 From 2.4.7
Race 4 - The 2nd of the heats and He’s All Purpose has been in outstanding form winning his last three in quick times and looks very hard to beat again but will be skinny odds. Springvale Rex is drawn to run a cheeky race but can be hit and miss at times. Psychotic Babe can fill the placings. 6.2..8.1 For $1
Race 5 - This is the 3rd heat of the Howard Ashton series and the two main chances are Springvale Maddi who loves a wide draw and has a good turn of early pace and Willow who has a terrific strike rate of 7 from 10, they are the ones to beat. My Mums Value can run time and is well drawn. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Race 6 - This is over the 595M and Kinrock Star was very impressive when winning here last week in a smart 34.17, he is drawn for a bold showing again here. Victa Grosso is the big danger he was runner up behind Fantastic Radley here last run after leading early. Add Run Like Jess who has the gun draw and should be on the pace early. Box Up 1.2.3.6
Race 7 - There are a heap of chances in this and I have gone with Researched from the inside draw, she can show early pace at times and is the likely leader. Zinfandel Cilla has been racing well here and looks amongst the better chances. Barefoot Rebel won here 1st up from Victoria but the wide draw is the concern. Box Up 2.6.7.8
Race 8 - Steve’s Regret has been showing early pace in his races here only to be run down, he hopefully can hold in this and salute. Sambuca Talks has been in the money at his last five and should get a clear run early. Add Mary Bridget who can improve from the good raw. Box Up 1.2.5.6
Race 9 - How good is this 730M event, Fantastic Radley was very impressive when winning here last week in 34.16 over the 595M, he can show early pace and is well drawn out here in 8. Lashes Monelli is slowly working back to her best form, she is the danger. Add Victa Haydn who has been showing pace at his past couple. Box Up 1.2.6.8
Race 10 - Zinfandel Oompa is our top selection here, she continues to show early pace and can pinch this again from the draw. Alfieri was a very good run here last run storming late to run 4th he is a big chance with a clear run early. Weblec Blade and Classic McLaren for the First Four. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Race 11 - Teddy The Bear can return to the winners circle here tonight, he was a good 2nd here last week and is a chance of leading. Spring Agatha and Zinfandel Nikki are major players in a wide open affair. Box Up 1.4.7.8
Race 12 - Tough race to go home on so it makes for a good first four event, Express Speed is well drawn and can kick up early and run a bold race. Velocity Teller is another with a good turn of foot out of the lids and is amongst the chances. Spring Line and Wizardry Things for the minors. Box Up 1.4.5.7
