We certainly have a good program here at headquarters tonight with three heats of the Group 3 Howard Ashton ( races 3 to 5 ,) we see the return of Victa Damian in race 4, the Lisa Rasmussen flying machine has been travelling around Australia taking on the best sprinters in the land and on his recent trial here in a sensational 29.84 he is back to his best.
The Rasmussen kennel look to have a big night ahead of them with a big team engaged. As always make sure you have a crack at a Trifecta and a First Four as they are available on all events.

2023 GROUP 3 HOWARD ASHTON HEATS TONIGHT
The major race for Breeders 2023 is the Group 3 Howard Ashton. There are three $3,700 Heats tonight which are races 3,4 & 5 with the first 5 greyhounds past the post and fastest sixth placegetter progressing to two semi finals next Thursday 18th May worth 4,500.
The $37,500 Final will be run on Thursday 25th May. The headline act in the series is Victa Damian for trainer Lisa Rasmussen who is engaged in race 4 out of the 7 box (7.52pm SA time). In a trial at Angle Park a few weeks ago he ran a track record time of 29.84 for the 530m journey so it will be interesting to see what he can do under race conditions tonight.
HEATS 2023 WEBLEC ACE AND MEPUNGA BLAZER AT STUD MURRAY BRIDGE STRAIGHT TRACK CUP ON TUESDAY
There are five heats programmed for the 2023 Weblec Ace and Mepunga Blazer at Stud Murray Bridge Straight Track Cup on Tuesday with an exciting line up of local stars against a well-performed Victorian. The series features the likes of Aston Olenna, So Be It, Aston Ziebell, Lot Of Poise, Taylor Toves, Federal Outlaw, He’s On Fire, Victorian Aston Scorcher, John Dutton and Cash On Delivery.
The racing will be fantastic with each winner and the three fastest second placegetters from each heat qualifying for the $14,275 final on Tuesday 23rd May. The box draw will be conducted on course after the running of the final heat on Tuesday.
LOW GRADE RACE FOR THURSDAYS AT ANGLE PARK
In an effort to ensure we are programming 12 races each Thursday night at Angle Park GRSA have introduced a low grade race for some Thursday nights.
These races are for Grade 5 greyhounds over 530m that have a low WPS (Weighted Points Score). Prizemoney will be slightly less than a normal Grade 5, however, these races will be non-penalty. There will be no guarding, no reserves and only one 8 greyhound race. This should provide encouragement for those trainers who have 500m+ greyhounds but feel they cannot compete on a normal Thursday night due to current form. We are hoping to draw from a different pool of greyhounds and GRSA would encourage trainers to nominate.
$3,505 Special event Grade 5 (worst to best) – 530m (One 8 dog field will be graded from the Weighted Points Score table of Grade 5 pool of greyhounds worst to best grading. No guarding and no reserves. Trainers cannot nominate for this event specifically. Non Penalty)
The next programmed event is on Thursday, 25th May.

GRSA has also continued with the 1 – 4 win Time Graded heats on a Saturday morning over 530m into a Thursday night final however with the introduction of the race on Thursday night, in May the 5 + 530m Time Graded events will only be run if insufficient nominations for the meeting (there will be no heats for this pool of greyhounds).
GRSA will also continue running heats at Murray Bridge, Angle Park Monday and Gawler into a Thursday night final where the program allows to draw from a different pool of greyhounds over 500m.
VACCINATION RULE FOR RACING IN SA
Trainers are reminded that Rule 25 (Minimum Vaccination Requirements) took effect Mon 1st May. Vaccination Certificates must be received by GRSA prior to close of nominations for affected greyhounds to be considered eligible.
MURRAY BRIDGE STAT TRIALS
Please be advised Satisfactory Trials at Murray Bridge on Wednesday nights will be conducted on a fortnightly basis due to staffing issues. The next fortnightly opportunity will be Wednesday 24th May.
SHANE MCQUEEN HEATS IN LATE MAY
The main 595m feature at Angle Park comes up on Thursday, 25th May with the running of the Heats of the Shane McQueen.
This series has always been well supported by the Industry with three or four Heats normally run. The $14,275 Final will be held on Thursday, 1st June.

BAYROAD QUEEN STAYERS HEATS IN JUNE
The $6,790 Heats of the Bayroad Queen Stayer’s Cup will be run over 730m on Thursday, 15th June . The $14,275 Final will be run on Thursday, 22nd June .
