TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

The Shadow is currently at large, however we have been able to get our GRSA website form analyst to cast their eye over a terrific night of racing at Angle Park headlined by the finals of the National Sprint and Distance Championships.

Race 1 - Pathways final to kickstart a bumper card! SHE'S ALL CHEEK (2) will likely start favourite and should get her chance to make it two in a row. Great heat win and if she isn't crowded by the pace in the middle, she should win. ZIPPING MORK (7) is in great form and is certainly a big danger. GUCCI GIBLET (4) has the speed to lead.

Race 2 - This is tough! Don't be surprised if something improves out of sight from their numerical form here. WHO KNOWS GUS (5) has a great stride on him, with pace and strength to work with. Just needs to navigate a path, he's a bit awkward. CANYA WIN (1) returns from a spell and has some ability. MAGICAL MYSTIC (4) could surprise.

Race 3 - Jump onboard punters - the best of the night has come early. Confident ZIPPING MAHALIA (1) wins this. Looks to have found her early form again and with a clean start she's hard to beat. CALL ME JACQUES (7) is a nice dog and won't make it easy for the #1, task is made harder from this draw though. JUKEBOX DUKE (4) has some ability.

Race 4 - Think this is even, with the favourite having a class edge. Going to take the value and go with PINK CONFETTI (8) who is going really well. The draw makes it hard but just hoping that she can zap these early or burn across the #2. CIRCUS CRAZE (7) is an obvious hope and will take a lot of beating. Very strong too. PERPETUAL (2) can lead them up.

Race 5 - Good race this and it's hard to see how the inside two don't fight it out again, just like they did last week. AIR OUTLAW (2) on top, he picked up Springvale Roxy with ease last week and should get the right run from this draw. SPRINGVALE ROXY (1) will lead and give them something to catch. MISS FREE REIGN (7) isn't hopeless in this.

Race 6 - Who wants a ticket to the big one? Distance final here and without a doubt ZIPPING NEUTRON (2) is on the one to beat, he's flying and starts short BUT... an inside draw isn't great and has a keen railer next door. He's going to need some luck. BEDROCK FRED (7) was terrific last week but needs to improve again. UNDER SIEGE (1) is very good.

Race 7 - Here with go, winner off to Victoria to represent the state with pride. SPRINGVALE MADDI (1) for me on top in an upset. Liked her run last week and with a few strong ones behind looking for the right run, she might pinch it. COULD BE KING (3) is a rocket when he gets clear air, whilst DASH OF BLUE (8) is just flying.

Race 8 - Looks a race in two, but an upset wouldn't completely shock. FIORANO (3) is the class of the race. Fast wins his last two, he just needs to tighten up those box manners or he might be in bother early with speed outside. CYCLONE ALLY (5) is flying under Kim Johnstone and can offset this draw. FINNISS WHISPER (1) is very honest - deserves a win soon.

Race 9 - Not the strongest city race we have ever seen, but alas - a winner to be found! WATERLOO BENNY (1) simply must make the most of this opportunity. Recent form is good, has speed and some strength. Should win for mine. PHANTOM FURY (6) has a bit of ability and so does NUGGEST COASTER (8) who could win this at his best.

Race 10 - Value bet of the night, with BLAZIN' LASS (5) who has been running well for a period of time. Her last start was massive and she just might get the run here. RAZZLE DARRYL (7) is the obvious and will start a red-hot favourite off the back of good run last week. HOOGLEY (1) gets the draw to find some form again.

Race 11 - This is tough - a genuine headscratcher. BILALI (5) on top for a bit of value. Has run well before here and I have liked his last couple of efforts at Gawler. FINNISS SURPRISE (4) has been in good form recently and deserves to win a race like this. CLIPS (8) brings some handy Victorian form here.

Race 12 - Terrific closer here punters and hopefully the wallets are full! SODA SAVILLE (2) deserves this, has been terrific his last two and I think he has the speed to land in second behind the red early. SPRINGVALE DAVE (1) is going great and will be hard to run down. DOONAN (7) was awesome last week here when first up in the state.

INDUSTRY CONSULTATIVE GROUP PANEL MEETING OUTCOMES – MAIN POINTS

•    There will only be one provisional breeders license being provided to multiple participants residing at the same residence.  All other applications would be dealt with on a case by case basis. For implementation TBA.

•    2 in 7 starts and 7 in 28 starts rule.  The ICG agreed that a 10 day stand down period would be an appropriate penalty for those that knowingly nominated greyhounds that would be ineligible due to the rule.  It was suggested any further infringements could attract a monetary penalty.  To clarify any penalty would only apply once the dog had gone around, not in instances with late scratchings etc.  It is the trainer’s responsibility to be aware of this rule and their implications. For implementation TBA.

•    The ICG panel confirmed and supported a $100 fine for any late Pink Card applications. For implementation TBA.

•    The ICG panel supported all trialling to be booked through the Trial Booker process to ensure specific criteria is met. Management to investigate amending trial booker into group categories to achieve greater efficiency at the session. For implementation TBA.
