Thursday night at Angle Park a big crowd was on hand to see five fantastic heats of the Classic Triple M Adelaide Cup where the winners and three fastest second placegetters from the heats qualified for this week’s big Group 1 final.

Most greyhound enthusiasts were on course to see if super star Fernando Bale could take one step closer to being the first greyhound in history to go past the $1 million in prizemoney and the Andrea Dailly flyer didn’t disappoint. The son of Kelsos Fusileer and Chloe Allen started a very warm favourite in the final heat on the night and after he seemed to stumble slightly out of the boxes he motored as soon as his feet hit the ground running his first split in a brilliant 4.34 and then extended his lead further down the back in a sizzling 16.59. As heads turned for home Fernando Bale was in full flight and raced down to the finishing post in a brilliant 29.36 for the 515m journey becoming the fastest qualifier for next Fridays Group 1 final.
