A Well Timed Run
With the annual Gawler Show being held at the Gawler Oval, greyhound racing has been transferred during that period to Angle Park. However this has not stopped trainers in the Gawler district from winning their share of events.
Trainer Rebecca McAuley –Fry was one local who achieved success at the transferred meetings. Her runner, Hearts of Fire from box 2, had been in second position all of the race, but got to the front when it counted to defeat Flying Charles, by the narrow margin of a head, in the time of 30.69 secs.
Hearts of Fire started at the huge odds of $40 in defeating Flying Charles (box 3) for Eddie Holland and Surf Report (1) which was only ¾ length behind for Karen Bearpark.
Racing at Gawler resumes it ‘s normal schedule on Friday 6th and Tuesday 10th.
