9yo track record falls
MEDIA RELEASE – RULEBOOK BREAKS 9YO RECORD
Last night at Angle Park history was made when Rulebook for trainer Troy Murray broke the 600m track record which had stood for over 9 years.
The son of Premier Fantasy and Umbrella had already made a huge impression on the local racing scene since coming from Western Australia with a blistering 29.26 win over the 515m and then a flying 34.87 last week at headquarters when he debut over the 600m. In a heat of the mixed 4/5 event Rulebook toyed with his rivals, leading throughout from box 1 and winning by more than 13 lengths but it was the time than everyone wanted to see. He ran a sizzling 34.35 for the 600m bettering the previous mark of 34.44 set by Explosive Flash in March of 2005. His splits were 8.81, 21.38, 34.35 compared with Explosive Flash’s 8.94, 21.52, 34.44. Troy Murray knows how to get the best out of Western Australian greyhounds highlighted by the outstanding success he had with past Greyhound of the Year Kalden Mayhem and it looks like Rulebook has the ability to fill those very big shoes.
Fast times and track records continue in SA with Rulebook last night over 600m, Casmac over 388m, Avid Tyson at Gawler over 400m, Dub Me In over 512m and Slipper’s Might over 400m at Mt Gambier recently.
