2017 Waterloo Cup to Gangalla Fury
Congratulations to our worthy winners - GANGALLA FURY – 2017 Waterloo Cup; MINACIOUS – 2017 Derby and SUPERBIOUS – 2017 Oaks.
The Gangalla Park Syndicate and Nathan Hughes certainly had some big smiles after the win by Gangalla Fury with Rip It Ralph doing his owner and trainer proud when a gallant runner up. Ben Rawlings probably created a bit of history when taking out the Derby for the 4th consecutive year with MINACIOUS who defeated Cooper Scooper and also taking out the Oaks with litter sister SUPERBIOUS who defeated Michele Quick. The Waterloo Cup Consolation was won by the Robyn Mackellar trained VICTA WINK when defeating Dark Hedge and not to be outdone, CHEVY TRON took out the maiden event when defeating Rockstar Elle.
Many thanks to our workers/volunteers who certainly produced the goods for our second to last meeting. Thanks must go to our “resident bakers” – Sharyn Gray and Val Frith who have done us proud this season with cakes and sausage rolls – always well received by our hungry owners/trainers.
Only 1 date to remember ; September 10th – lets go out with a BANG!

Equal thirds Ray Fewing’s ECCLEFECHAN and Peter Kelly’s RALOO BARBARA.
RACE 2 : GOTBA 2017 OAKS
T McCallum’s & D Stuppos’ SUPERBIOUS (BD B, Jan ’16; Bit Chilli/Gold Vee) defeated Ray Fewings’ MICHELE QUICK (F B, May ’15; Barcia Bale/Bally Swift) by 1.25 lengths in 15.58.
Winner trained by Ben Rawlings.
3rd was Stephen Connor’s BELL OF EDEN.
RACE 3 : GOTBA 2017 DERBY
T McCallum’s & D Stuppos’ MINACIOUS (BK D; Jan ’16; Bit Chilli/Gold Vee) defeated the Boomer Syndicate’s COOPER SCOOPER (BK D, Sep ’15; Paw Licking/Pearl’s Bonnie) bu 1.25 lengths in 15.47. Winner trained by Ben Rawlings.
3rd was Kathleen Bates’ SPRING BRUISER.
RACE 4 : GOTBA MAIDEN (1+ Wins)
The Beer Baron Syndicate’s CHEVY TRON (BD D, Jun ’15; Dyna Tron/Elite Tarawi) defeated S Evans & C Nutt’s ROCKSTAR ELLE (RBD B, July ’14; Barcia Bale/Parisette) by 7 lengths in 16.14.
