MOLLY BE NIMBLE WINS ST PATRICKS DAY SPRINT

The Cameron Butcher trained Molly Be Nimble added another feature race to the Butcher collection when she showed brilliant early speed to lead throughout and claim the 2017 St Patrick’s Day Sprint last night at Angle Park. A modest crowd was on hand to see the daughter of Nitro Burst and Hope’s Up win her 5th race in a row running a brilliant 29.64 for the 515m journey. She defeated kennel mate On Fire who lost no admirers running home powerfully from a long way back to grab second, sprinting home in a flying 12.53 while Tommy’s Tune for Lisa Rasmussen ran a solid race to grab third.

 

Spectators were also treated to Alice’s Entity for Tony Rasmussen winning the 2017 Launching Pad SA Final and booking her spot in the lucrative heats at Sandown in two weeks time. It was a big night for the Rasmussen’s kennel winning 4 races on the program  highlighted by ex Western Australian Caprice Monelli winning the stayers event in a sizzling 43.12 defeating local staying star Springvale Bryne by over 8 lengths. We also saw the return to SA of Group 1 Galaxy winner Bogie Bekim for Ben Rawlings who sizzled over the 600m in a hot 34.77 in winning by over 7 lengths.
