The Len Wilson trained Hesa Marlow produced another outstanding performance to take out last nights Kings & Queens feature final at Angle Park.

The son of Lochinvar Marlow and Amity Kinship won his heat last week from box 8 when he was able to lead throughout, and again he drew box 8 in the final with connections hoping for the same result.  He began nicely from the pink and headed towards the lead however Larrikin Locky for Lisa Rasmussen beat him to the punch first as they raced into the back straight. The pair matched motors down the back until Hesa Marlow gained the advantage up the inside off the back straight and shook of Larrikin Locky as they turned for home before a late charge from the Petar Jovanovic trained Cairlea Ollie who flashed home in the shadows of the post. Hesa Marlow held on for a terrific win running a handy 30.13 for the 515m journey defeating Cairnlea Ollie by ¾ length with Larrikin Locky in third a further 2 ¾ lengths away.

Hesa Marlow was locally Bred by Tony Milligan and owned by Gloria Milligan and with last night’s win Hesa Marlow took his earnings past $18,000 with 9 wins and 6 placings from just 24 starts.

 

The 2017 Kings and Queens feature final was introduced by Greyhound Racing SA this year for greyhounds whelped between 1st March 2015 to 31st May 2015 in support of those dogs & bitches affected by the change to the AGRA Age Restricted Classics from 30 months back down to 27 months, which is the conditions for this years SA Oaks and SA Derby series to be run next Thursday night.
