Victorian trainer David Geal completed a successful few weeks in South Australia by winning the feature Group 3 Howard Ashton final at Angle Park last night with the highly promising Galactic Viper.

Galactic Viper who is SA Owned and Bred by Robert Chuck who is based at Moorak in the state’s South East was placed in both his heat and semi final before showing blistering early dash last night to win by 6 lengths. He ran his first split in a flying 4.41 before going down the back in 16.88 and having a huge lead. His lead was trimmed marginally by Lucy Fergo however his overall time of 29.83 was simply brilliant for the 515m journey. Lucy Fergo as mentioned ran home strongly into second place and continues her consistent form for trainer Mike Giniotis while Mrs Bubbles also did her connections proud from Whyalla in claiming third spot.

Galactic Viper has now won 6 races from his 19 starts including 6 minor placings and prizemoney around $34,000. His trainer David Geall was thrilled with his performance along with owner Robert Chuck who unfortunately couldn’t make it oncourse with the nerves of a big race getting the better.
