2015 COFFEX COFFEE OAKS REVIEW

Last night at Angle Park Elfen Bale prepared by Victorian trainer Andrea Dailly stepped into the limelight and out of the shadows of brother Fernando Bale when she showed her class by taking out the Group 3 Coffex Coffee SA Oaks.

Out of the same Kelsos Fusileer and Chloe Allen litter as her multiple Group 1 winning brother, Elfen Bale took her earnings to over $125,000 with a strong display of chasing.

Starting one of the favourites with fellow Victorian Angie Rocks she pinched an early break on her main rival with a slick 4.37 lead time to be in front at the winning post the first time while Angie Rocks walked out of the boxes in a sluggish 4.72 being some 4 lengths last as they entered the back. Elfen Bale was challenged strongly by Western Australian Jamaica The Fun who forged to the front of the back straight while Angie Rocks ran into dead ends. As heads turned for home Elfen Bale dug deep and ran to the front again in the home straight with Jamaica The Fun battling on and Angie Rocks finally gaining clear air from the rear of the field. At the winning post Elfen Bale had done enough to win in a solid 29.90 for the 515m journey with the luckless Angie Rocks coming home three to their one to just fail by half a length. Jamaica The Fun held on very well for third a further 2 lengths back with SA speedster Mrs Bubbles a handy fourth.

Elfen Bale has now won 14 races from her 38 starts with 14 minor placing’s and continues the terrific run the Dailly kennel has had with Angle Park curcuit.
