2015 BGC INDUSTRIAL CLEANING SUPPLIES SA DERBY – BOX DRAW

On a still night last night at Angle Park we saw four terrific heats of the BGC Industrial Cleaning Supplies SA Derby where the racing was of the highest level. The tone for the night was set in the first heat where Dyna Double One for Andrea Dailly stamped himself as the greyhound to beat next week when he sizzled around the Angle Park circuit in a blistering 29.30 to be the fastest qualifier.

The race was set up early by the flying Western Australian Fun Boss for Lexie Isaac who flew out of the boxes in a lead time of 4.33 however Dyna Double One was hard on his tail and gave him the go by off the back straight. From there the outstanding son of Barcia Bale and Crystin Bale gapped his rivals winning by over 6 lengths with Fun Boss still running a flying 29.78 in finishing second and qualifying for the final. Fun Boss will be able to use his high speed from a favourable box 3 however Dyna Double One has drawn box 4 and if anything can beat him its trouble at the start.

The second heat of the night was disrupted by major interference on the first turn where most greyhounds found some trouble however out of the wash up both Victorian trained greyhounds Amaro Bale for Andrea Dailly and Hard Bargain for Kelly Bravo did enough to qualify next week’s final.

Amaro Bale won in a handy 30.12 with Hard Bargain close up however due to the interference the slower time should be disregarded as both were able to run home solidly in sub 13.00 seconds. Hard Bargain looks the likely improver after drawing box 1 in the final however Amaro Bale has run 29.30 at Sandown and shouldn’t be treated lightly.

The third heat saw the unbeaten run of Fever Pitch from box 8 continue for Victorian trainer Rinaldo Divirgilio when he made full use of the pink rug to run to the front early in the event before racing away from his rivals. He won in a blistering 29.56 with very solid sections of 4.38, 16.87 defeating fellow Victorian Lektra Concord by almost 4 lengths. Fever Pitch has now won 3 from 3 from the 8 box and again draws box 8 in the Derby final putting him right into winning calculations.

The final heat looked a match race on paper between outstanding SA sprinter It’s Classified for Troy Murray and brilliant Victorian Blazin’ Bomber for Darren Pattinson and that’s the way it turned out. It’s Classified found the early lead and gave Blazin’ Bomber something to catch and turning for home it looked like he might have had his measure however Blazin’ Bomber knuckled down and ran home powerfully to record a strong win 29.61 with It’s Classifed far from disgraced in 29.70. Both have drawn a little wide however Blazin’ Bomber  has shown he can overcome adversity to win feature races while It’s Classified will carry the hopes of the SA fans as the only local in next week’s fabulous final.

The $35,000 Group Three Final will be run next Thursday night 17th September. It will be race 8 on the program and is listed to jump at 9.12pm (SA time).
