2014 MACRO MEATS ADELAIDE CUP HEATS

Seven heats of the Macro Meats Adelaide Cup have been drawn for this Thursday night’s (2nd October) meeting at Angle Park. GRSA received 55 final nominations for the Group 1 series with 30 from South Australia and 25 from Interstate. GRSA have supported all those greyhounds that nominated for the series and have drawn all greyhounds into the heats.

The Interstate nominations are led by Group 1 Sapphire Crown and Group 3 SA Oaks winner Oakvale Destiny for trainer Jeff Britton along with kennel mate Mepunga Hayley the winner of the Group 1 Maturity. Andrea Dailly has nominated a high quality team led by Group 2 Bob Payne Summer Cup finalist Allen Deed, Victorian National Sprint Champion Crackerjack Dak and Group 1 Silver Chief winner Ollie Bale. Norman Walls has nominated high quality Victorian Campaspe Will while exciting Queenslander Iva Vision is back in SA after winning the Group 3 SA Derby two weeks ago. The fields also include Group 3 Darwin Cup winner Clash Of Kings along with quality sprinters Gimme Fuel, National Time and Woodnear from Victorian along with the flying Hellyeah Bolt from Tasmania.

Local nominations are led by last years Group 1 Adelaide Cup winner Ernie Bung Arrow for Ken Gill on the comeback trail after 8 months away from the track. He has had one start back and will be hoping to find the form that carried him to victory last year and establish a cult following amongst greyhound fans. SA National Sprint Champion Wild Soul, the inform Galillee Spirit and rising star Aston Kane lead a strong lineup of local contenders.

 

The Macro Meats Adelaide Cup Final carries total prizemoney of $107,500, with the winner to receive $75,000. With seven heats the winners and fastest second placegetter will progress through to the Group 1 Final on Friday 10th October.
