Last night at Angle Park the oncourse patrons saw already one of the brightest lights in greyhound racing add another chapter to her list of achievements. Oakvale Destiny has already tasted Group 1 glory by winning the Sapphire Crown at Sandown in May and last night she was simply outstanding in defeating a high quality line up with the Group 1 Adelaide Cup the next likely target.

The Jeff Britton trained star was slow out from box 4 but she showed terrific track sense to move down to the inside and avoid minor interference on the first turn. As the field entered the back straight Oakvale Destiny was able to move to second behind leader Emerley Senorita with the race looking to be in her keeping even that far from home. She moved up on the inside to take the lead of the back straight and from there she raced away for a 4 ½ length victory in a sizzling 29.69 for the 515m journey. Her litter sister Footluce Diva for Ken Trowbridge flashed home down the outside to grab second with Emerley Senorita for Peter Hurley battling on well for third making it an all SA Bred trifecta.

Oakvale Destiny is by Vapour Whirl and Footluce with this SA Bred litter proving to be one of the most successful in the country with sisters Oakvale Flyer and Footluce Diva flying at present and brother Texas Titan winning last night on the same program. She is owned in SA by Nathan Wilson who is having the time of his life with the Britton kennel and all South Aussies hope the golden run continues and she is back in SA in a couple of weeks time for SA’s Group 1 series.

Oakvale Destiny has now won 10 races from her 23 starts with 5 minor placing’s and prizemoney around $165,000.
