 2014 INDUSTRY PUPPY AUCTION

The Adelaide Greyhound Racing Club (AGRC), in conjunction with Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA), is pleased to announce the return of the Industry Puppy Auction in 2014.

Last run in 2005, the Industry Puppy Auction had previously provided South Australian breeders with a convenient avenue for selling their greyhounds. Recent feedback from participants has suggested a revival of the concept would greatly assist breeders.

GRSA also views the auction as an ideal opportunity to welcome new owners into the industry. The auction has been scheduled on the Sunday following the Adelaide Cup, to take advantage of the increased focus on the sport and a captive audience in attendance on Adelaide Cup night.

A race series for greyhounds purchased through the auction will be conducted in May 2016. This series will be held at Angle Park over 515m and will distribute over $30,000 in prizemoney and bonuses.

To be eligible for the auction, greyhounds must be whelped between 1^st November 2013 and 31^st May 2014, meaning that puppies will be aged between 4 and 11 months at the time of the auction.

Entry Fee:                                 $50 per puppy (non-refundable)

Race Series Prizemoney:          1^st-$10,000, 2^nd-$3,000, 3^rd-$1,500, Unplaced-$250

Nominator Bonuses:                 1^st-$2,000, 2^nd-$1,500, 3^rd-$1,000
